Program Description

Morehouse School of Religion is poised to observe and celebrate our 128th year of continuous Christian service through the lens of the Black Church. Since our founding, we have endeavored to serve our Baptist congregations, parachurch organizations, alumni, alumnae, and our brotherly and sisterly communities around our global communities.

This year, our theme highlights our institutional role, which is to provide religious education for our clergypersons. Historically, black religious education has played a vital role in the formation of our Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Our theme then is “Courage to Build: Black Religion, Our Quest and Development of HBCU’s Education (Joshua 1:7-9).” We stand confidently that this is an appropriate conversation during these sundry times.
